問：二門所攝事別不也？答：真如門事是分別性，以說諸法不生不滅本來寂靜，但依妄念而有差別故。生滅門事是依他性，以說諸法因緣和合有業果故。

Question: Are the phenomena subsumed by the two gates distinct or not? Answer: The phenomena of the aspect of tathatā are of the imagined nature, because it states that all dharmas are neither arising nor ceasing and fundamentally tranquil, and distinctions exist only dependent on false thoughts. The phenomena of the aspect of arising and ceasing are of the dependent nature, because it states that through the harmony of causes and conditions there are karmic results.
