此即道諦觀也。若能覺察無明因果，便是出要度脫之道。愍物迷此，即為下文弘願觀本。正治凡外不知出要，兼治二乘不起大悲。初四諦觀竟。

This is the contemplation of the truth of the path. If one can perceive the cause and effect of ignorance, that itself is the path of essential escape and deliverance. Pitying beings who are deluded about this becomes the basis for the contemplation of the great vows below. This directly remedies ordinary beings and outsiders not knowing the essential escape, and concurrently remedies the two vehicles not giving rise to great compassion. The first part, the contemplation of the four truths, is concluded.
