From beginningless time, because of the view of phenomena, craving for phenomena, and pride in phenomena of the seventh consciousness falsely clinging to the eighth as real dharmas within oneself, all the habit energies perfumed into the eighth consciousness—although through the power of the fruit of the wisdom of the emptiness of dharmas of the sixth consciousness constantly manifesting before one, they do not arise in association with the active manifestations of the seventh—yet through the power of these seeds of habit energy, one has not relinquished the name of ripening consciousness and has not realized the ultimately equal, non-dual dharmakāya of all Tathāgatas. Therefore, one must enter the vajropamasamādhi from the ultimate stage of a bodhisattva to eliminate this seed, and only then enter the Tathāgata stage. The first part, explaining the sequence of separating from the defiled mind, is concluded.
