問曰：維摩闡玄之極，亦使默外猶有自覺相應境界。何故不論？釋言：為化極於言默，言默之外不復可陳。不可陳處從來未辨，豈獨今哉？

Question: Vimalakīrti's elucidation of the profound reaches the ultimate, yet does it also cause there to remain, beyond silence, a sphere corresponding to personal awakening? Why is it not discussed? Explanation: For the sake of transforming [beings], the ultimate limit lies in speech and silence; beyond speech and silence, nothing further can be stated. A place that cannot be stated has never been elucidated from the beginning—how could it be only now?
