Next, their mutual subsumption is treated in terms of the six pāramitās. The first, the mind of faith, is the expedient means that arouses practice, and is not subsumed by the six pāramitās. The remaining nine are subsumed by the six pāramitās. The two gates of compassion and loving-kindness are subsumed by the dhyāna pāramitā; therefore, among those twelve gates of dhyāna, the eight dhyānas together with the four immeasurables are collectively called dhyāna. Renunciation is the dāna pāramitā. Untiring vigor is the vīrya pāramitā. Knowing the scriptures and knowing the world are the prajñā pāramitā. Shame and remorse are the śīla pāramitā. Within firm strength, the meaning has two aspects: remaining unmoved while dwelling in suffering is the kṣānti pāramitā; being vigorous and non-regressing in wholesome dharmas is the vīrya pāramitā. In the tenth gate, practicing in accordance with the teachings comprehensively subsumes the six pāramitās. Making offerings to the Buddhas has two aspects: material offerings are the dāna pāramitā, while the offering of practice comprehensively subsumes the six pāramitās. (This concludes the seventh gate.)
