14.84

此十無畏，出《華嚴經》。名字是何？一悉能聞持問答無畏、二除滅眾生疑惑無畏、三見一切空離邪見無畏、四得佛威儀無畏、五三業清淨離過無畏、六諸天善神一切諸佛護念無畏、七悉能受持一切佛法無畏、八示現受生不為生死惑亂無畏、九安住大乘悉能示現諸乘無畏、十隨化眾生普為應現不斷菩薩願行無畏（此一門竟）。

These ten fearlessnesses derive from the Avataṃsaka Sūtra. What are the names? First, the fearlessness of being completely able to hear, retain, question, and answer. Second, the fearlessness of eliminating the doubts and perplexities of sentient beings. Third, the fearlessness of seeing everything as empty and leaving behind wrong views. Fourth, the fearlessness of attaining the Buddha's deportment. Fifth, the fearlessness of purity in the three modes of action and separation from faults. Sixth, the fearlessness of being protected and mindfully guarded by the devas, wholesome spirits, and all Buddhas. Seventh, the fearlessness of being completely able to receive and uphold all Buddha-dharmas. Eighth, the fearlessness of manifesting rebirth without being confused or disrupted by saṃsāra. Ninth, the fearlessness of resting securely in the Mahāyāna and being completely able to manifest all vehicles. Tenth, the fearlessness of universally manifesting responses in accordance with transforming sentient beings without severing bodhisattva vows and practices. (This concludes the first heading.)
