14.85

次對菩薩四種無畏辨其同異。四無畏義，如前廣說，一者總持說法無畏、二知法藥及知眾生根欲性心說法無畏、三善能問答說法無畏、四能斷物疑說法無畏。十中第一，即是四中第一第三。十中第二，即是四中第四無畏。十中第三第七第九，即是四中第二無畏，知法藥故。餘者不同。無畏如是。

Next, relative to the bodhisattva's four kinds of fearlessness, their similarities and differences are distinguished. The doctrine of the four fearlessnesses is as broadly explained earlier: first, fearlessness in expounding the Dharma through dhāraṇī; second, fearlessness in expounding the Dharma by knowing the medicine of the Dharma and knowing the faculties, desires, dispositions, and minds of sentient beings; third, fearlessness in expounding the Dharma by excelling at questioning and answering; fourth, fearlessness in expounding the Dharma by being able to cut off beings' doubts. The first among the ten is the first and third among the four. The second among the ten is the fourth fearlessness among the four. The third, seventh, and ninth among the ten are the second fearlessness among the four, because one knows the medicine of the Dharma. The rest are not the same. Such are the fearlessnesses.
