次辨畜生。如《法念經》，說畜生中凡有三十四億種類，於中具有四生不同、四食之異。業果差殊，備如彼經，不可具說（畜生如是）。

Next, distinguishing animals. As the *Saddharmasmṛtyupasthāna Sūtra* says, among animals there are in all thirty-four billion kinds, among which are completely present the differences of the four modes of birth and the distinctions of the four nutriments. The variations of karmic fruit are fully detailed in that sūtra and cannot be completely described. (Such are animals.)
