In the first two lines, the sūtras and treatises speak of moving or not moving in accordance with calculations to shatter attachments, but things are not necessarily so. The next four lines follow the preceding, already clarifying moving yet not moving, and not moving yet moving. The last four lines again follow the preceding, already clarifying that moving is none other than not moving, and not moving is none other than moving; thus they are not redundant. The reason [the text] does not harmonize the two vehicles is that the two vehicles merely receive the teaching of impermanence and cultivate it; thus by merely harmonizing the teaching, people can be awakened.
