From "pure instruction" downward: although he has not been able to directly receive Master Yuan's pure model, he has already taken his exalted standard to heart and turned to revere it, which is why his standing on tiptoe in yearning admiration has also lasted for many days. From "The Venerable Master" downward, it merely recounts the earlier letter. "Embracing oneness" means guarding the Way. He not only looks up to him with admiration, but also sings his praises in verse. From "I, too" downward, he recounts his own situation: "a remote corner" refers to the Jin being in the southeast. Whenever the author of the treatise contemplates the virtuous transformation at Mount Lu, it is like a canopy suspended at the limit of heaven, receiving its pure shade; yet, with rivers and mountains distantly blocking him, he has no way to convey his full respect, causing him to sigh with deep emotion.
