I ask to interrogate those who set forth existence and non-existence: When cognition arises, it is limited to within marks. Dharmas are fundamentally animitta; what does sage cognition know? What the world calls "absence of knowing" refers to being equal to wood, stone, and the insentient continuum of the great void. When the spiritual mirror darkly illuminates, manifesting forms before their earliest signs, and the Way leaves no subtle function concealed, how can it be called an absence of knowing?
