擬心下，謂一念起時已落分別，況依分別而興言象，豈非轉遠？餘文可解。然遺民師承社主、遍友群賢，豈實執異？但嘉雅論精巧、深無不至，假問請談發揚其妙，不可執迹以輕君子。

From "to direct the mind" downward, it means that when a single thought arises, one has already fallen into conceptual differentiation, how much more so when relying on conceptual differentiation to produce words and images—how could it not become ever more distant? The rest of the text can be understood. However, Liu Yimin received transmission from the Master of the Society [Huiyuan] and was a friend to all the worthy ones; how could he truly hold differing attachments? He merely praised the exquisite subtlety of the refined treatise, whose depth left nothing unreached, borrowing questions to request discourse in order to bring out its wonders. One must not cling to traces and disparage a gentleman.
