The first line takes up the concluding text from the preceding section on establishing the substance. 'Six sense realms' refers to what ancient translations rendered as the six dusts (guṇa) as the six realms; they are all conditioned phenomena: having form and omen they enter existence, and when conditions disperse they enter non-existence—how could they be the dwelling abode of nirvāṇa? Therefore, the word 'transcending' is provisionally borrowed to reveal its lofty transcendence.
