3.67

涅槃之道非聲非色，豈可以有餘為有、無餘為無，依名榜示標指處所，謂王宮託質為有、雙林息跡為無，而說其妙道，豈不遠乎？以成前文應物之假名爾。

The Way of nirvāṇa is neither sound nor form; how could one take remainder as existence, and no-remainder as non-existence, pointing out places based on conventional labels, asserting that entrusting form to the royal palace is existence, and extinguishing traces in the twin śāla trees is non-existence? To speak of its wondrous Way in such a manner, is that not far wide of the mark? This completes the preceding text regarding the provisional names that respond to things.
