率爾等五心，略以十二門分別：一列名、二辨相、三八識有無、四剎那多少、五亂不亂生、六諸心對辨、七初後廣略、八諸位闕具、九三性所收、十緣生總別、十一何量所攝、十二問答聊簡。

The five minds, such as the sudden mind, are briefly distinguished by twelve gates: 1. listing the names; 2. discerning their characteristics; 3. presence or absence among the eight consciousnesses; 4. number of moments (kṣaṇa); 5. arising in confusion or non-confusion; 6. comparative differentiation among the various minds; 7. extensive and brief [explanations] of earlier and later [stages]; 8. absence or presence in the various stages; 9. subsumption under the three natures; 10. general or distinct causal arising; 11. subsumption under which pramāṇa; 12. question-and-answer resolution.
