The piṭakas are discriminated briefly through ten sections: 1. the causal origination of the councils, 2. the increase and decrease of names and numbers, 3. differentiating eliminations and establishments, 4. identifying their intrinsic nature, 5. explaining their names and meanings, 6. revealing their distinctions, 7. showing the general and specific categories spoken by the Buddha himself, 8. the establishments by masters and disciples, 9. discrimination of sequence, and 10. resolving doubts and difficulties.
