2.93

謂子事父母當有五事：一者當念治生；二者早起勅令奴婢時作飯食；三者不益父母憂；四者當念父母恩；五者父母病瘦，當恐懼求醫師治之。父母視子亦有五事：一者當教去惡就善、二者當教計算書疏、三當教持經戒、四者當為早娶婦、五者家中所有當與之。

This means that for a child serving their parents there should be five things: first, they must apply their mind to earning a livelihood; second, they must rise early and command the servants to prepare food on time; third, they must not increase their parents' worries; fourth, they must hold their parents' kindness in mind; fifth, when their parents are ill and emaciated, they must anxiously seek a physician to treat them. Parents looking after a child also have five things: first, they must teach them to discard evil and take up good; second, they must teach them reckoning and writing; third, they must teach them to uphold the scriptures and precepts; fourth, they must arrange an early marriage for them; fifth, whatever the family possesses must be given to them.
