大夫視奴客婢使亦有五事：一當以時與飲食衣被；二病瘦當為呼醫治之；三不妄撾打之；四有私財不得奪之；五分物當平等。奴客婢使事大夫亦有五事：一當自早起勿令大夫呼；二所當作自用心為之；三當惜大夫物不得棄捐乞丐人；四大夫出入當送迎；五當於後稱譽大夫善，不得說其惡。

For a master looking after male and female servants there are also five things: first, provide food, clothing, and bedding in a timely manner; second, when they are sick and emaciated, summon a doctor to treat them; third, do not flog or beat them arbitrarily; fourth, do not seize their private property; fifth, distribute goods equitably. For male and female servants serving their master there are also five things: first, rise early on one's own without waiting for the master to call; second, apply one's mind diligently to what ought to be done; third, take care of the master's property and do not discard it or give it away to beggars; fourth, escort and welcome the master when he leaves and enters; fifth, afterwards praise the master's virtues and do not speak of his faults.
