Fifth, the forbearance of good persons: briefly, there are five kinds. That is, bodhisattvas first see the benefits of forbearance, knowing that an individual capable of forbearance will, in future lives, have few enemies, few separations, much joy and happiness, and no regret at the approach of death; and after the breakup of the body, they will be born into a good rebirth, among the celestial realms. Having seen these benefits, they are themselves able to endure, encourage others to practice forbearance, praise the virtues of forbearance, and upon seeing those able to practice forbearance, feel comforted and rejoiced.
