Seventh, forbearance that fulfills wishes: briefly, there are eight kinds: 1. for those in suffering who come begging, being able to endure when pressed; 2. for sentient beings of extreme ferocity who commit the highest grade of evil deeds, forbearance of compassion without anger; 3. for those who break the precepts, forbearance of compassion without anger; and there are further five kinds: forbearance that endures toil; forbearance that can endure the toil of removing the suffering of sentient beings; forbearance that endures the toil of seeking the Dharma; forbearance that endures the toil of practicing in accordance with the Dharma; forbearance that endures the toil of explaining the Dharma to others; and forbearance that endures all proper toil undertaken for the sake of sentient beings.
