二、教義差別，以臨門牛車亦同羊鹿，但有其名，以望一乘俱是教故。是故經云：以佛教門出三界苦，亦不可說以佛教言但約二乘，以經不揀故。彼求牛車人尋教至義，亦同二乘俱不得故。

Second, the distinction between teaching and meaning. Because the bullock cart near the gate is also identical to the goat and deer [carts] in having only a name, when viewed from the One Vehicle, they are all merely teaching. Therefore the sūtra states: 'Through the Buddha's teaching approach, one escapes the suffering of the three realms.' Nor can it be said that the words 'the Buddha's teaching' refer only to the two vehicles, because the sūtra does not make such a distinction. When those seeking the bullock cart follow the teaching to reach the meaning, just like the two vehicles, they also fail to obtain it.
