五、或有眾生於此世中頓悟機熟即便定者，即見佛從初得道乃至涅槃不說一字，如《楞伽》說。又《涅槃經》云「若知如來常不說法，是名菩薩具足多聞」等。

Fifth: there may be sentient beings in this world whose capacity for sudden awakening has ripened and who then become fixed; thus they see the Buddha, from his initial attainment of the Path up to nirvāṇa, not preaching a single word, as stated in the Laṅkāvatāra-sūtra. Moreover, the Mahāparinirvāṇa-sūtra says, "If one knows that the Tathāgata constantly preaches no Dharma, this is called a bodhisattva complete in vast learning," and so forth.
