四、或有眾生於此漸教中根不定故，堪入頓教即便定者，即見初示言說之教猶非究竟，後顯絕言之教方為究竟，如《維摩經》中初三十二菩薩及文殊等，所說不二並在言說中，後維摩所顯絕言之教以為究竟者是。

Fourth: there may be sentient beings who, because their capacities within this gradual teaching are not fixed, are capable of entering the sudden teaching and then become fixed; thus they see that the teaching initially demonstrated through verbal expression is not yet ultimate, and that the teaching revealed later that transcends words is truly ultimate, just as in the Vimalakīrtinirdeśa-sūtra, where the non-duality spoken initially by the thirty-two bodhisattvas, Mañjuśrī, and the rest were all within verbal expression, and later the word-transcending teaching revealed by Vimalakīrti was taken as ultimate.
