Fifth is the approach of the subtle mutual accommodation and establishment. The various meanings above are complete within a single thought-moment, beginning and end being simultaneous. All the Dharma approaches of different times, before and after, conformable and adverse, etc., are vividly and simultaneously revealed together in a single thought-moment, none of them unclear, just like a bundle of arrows showing their tips all at once. Therefore, this sūtra says: 'A bodhisattva, in a single thought-moment, descends from the Tuṣita heaven into the mother's womb, up to distributing the relics, the long endurance of the Dharma, and the various sentient beings benefited; all are manifested within a single thought-moment,' as detailed in the sūtra text. It also says: 'Within a single pore, immeasurable buddha-lands / Are adornment and pure, / Spaciously dwelling at ease.' It also says: 'Within a single dust particle, subtle lands, / Equal to all dust particles, all dwell within it.' One should reflect on this in accordance with principle.
Question: 'What is the difference between this meaning and Indra['s net] above?'
Answer: 'Multilayered mutual manifestation through concealment and revelation belongs to the subsumption of Indra['s net]; vivid and clear manifestation together all at once belongs to the subsumption of the subtle. These various meanings are distinct and not the same; one should reflect on them closely.'
