三明互為因果義成有本識者，明本識中有互為因果義，餘法即無。若爾，因何蘆束等得有互為因果？答：餘法之中互為因果，即是轉理之門，假說因果，非真實也。

Third, explaining the establishment of the fundamental consciousness through the meaning of mutual cause and effect: this explains that the meaning of mutual cause and effect exists in the fundamental consciousness, whereas it does not exist in other phenomena. If so, why is there mutual cause and effect in things like sheaves of reeds? Answer: Mutual cause and effect among other phenomena is merely an approach of conventional reasoning, metaphorically called cause and effect, not the reality.
