五約因果別不別成有本識者，若有本識即成因果別不別，離識即無。何以故？由因果種離識不成故。

Fifth, regarding establishing the fundamental consciousness in terms of the distinction and non-distinction of cause and effect: if there is the fundamental consciousness, then the distinction and non-distinction of cause and effect are established, but apart from consciousness they do not exist. Why is this? Because the seeds of cause and effect cannot be established apart from consciousness.
