Seventh, the benefit of further benefiting [others] means that when universal practice is perfected, one can then suddenly benefit boundless sentient beings, causing them all to equally attain this Dharma of the ten grounds. As when the previously mentioned Tuṣita devaputra had attained the ten grounds, clouds of canopies emerged from his pores to make offerings to the Buddha. The sūtra says: "If there are sentient beings who see these clouds of canopies, those sentient beings will plant roots of goodness planted by wheel-turning sage kings equal in number to the sands of the Ganges, namely the wheel-turning kings of the pure white jeweled net, and so forth. Bodhisattva-mahāsattvas abide in such stations of wheel-turning kings, and within worlds numbering as the subtle atoms of hundreds of thousands of koṭis of nayutas of Buddha-lands they teach and transform those wheel-turning kings and emit sovereign mandāra light. If there are sentient beings who encounter this light, they all attain the ten grounds of a bodhisattva." It also says: "That wheel-turning king emits great light named Cūḍāmaṇi. If there are sentient beings who encounter this light, they attain the ten grounds of a bodhisattva, all attain the light of immeasurable wisdom, attain the pure karmic actions of the ten kinds of eyes, up to the pure karmic actions of the ten kinds of mind, fully accomplish the samādhi of pure power, and up to attaining the fleshy eye of universal vision," and so forth. In explanation: the above three tiers of vast, abundant, and profound benefits are accomplished simultaneously: 1. the devaputra attains the ten grounds; 2. the canopy clouds from the devaputra's pores benefit others by causing them to attain [the rank of] wheel-turning kings, who are also tenth-ground bodhisattvas; 3. the wheel-turning kings emit light to further and extensively benefit, again causing many people to also attain the ten grounds, all numbering as the dust motes of lands, swiftly cascading, all suddenly accomplished to an ineffable-ineffable degree. It is as explained at length in that chapter.
