問：「准此所說，說《華嚴》會總無了時，何容有此一部經教？」答：「為下劣眾生於無盡說中，略取此等結集流通，故有此一部，令其見聞方便，引入無際限中，如觀牖隙見無際虛空；當知此中道理亦爾，觀此一部見無邊法海。又復即此一部是無邊劫海之說，以結通文無分齊故，一說即是一切說故。」

Question: "According to what is expounded here, the assembly expounding the Avataṃsaka never has an end; how could this single text of sūtra teaching exist?" Answer: "For the sake of inferior sentient beings, from within the inexhaustible expounding, this [text] was briefly taken, compiled, and disseminated; therefore, there is this single work, causing their seeing and hearing to serve as an expedient means to introduce them into the boundless, just as looking through a window aperture one sees boundless empty space. One should know that the principle here is also like this: by contemplating this single work, one sees the boundless ocean of Dharma. Furthermore, this single work is precisely the teaching of boundless oceans of kalpas, because the compiled general text has no boundary, and one expounding is all expoundings."
