三、為出怖。如經云「若得一跳即譬一歸，若得三跳即譬三歸。是故三寶慈悲，救眾生生死苦，是故三跳得出怖也。」
Third, in order to escape fear. As a sūtra says: "Attaining one leap is an analogy for one refuge; attaining three leaps is an analogy for the three refuges. Therefore the Three Jewels are compassionate and save sentient beings from the suffering of saṃsāra; therefore through three leaps one escapes fear."
