Ninth, "dissolving medicine and sickness": seeing large and small, arising and ceasing, existence and non-existence, and fluctuating movement in the dust mote is sickness; realizing that large and small are without large and small, realizing that arising and ceasing do not arise or cease, knowing that existence is non-existence, etc., is medicine. Medicine is itself non-medicine, because there is no delusion to sever; sickness is also non-sickness, because wisdom penetrates deeply. One should know that stirring the mind to condition sense objects is sickness. As a sūtra says: "What is the root of sickness? It is having conditioned clinging."
