Fourth, being born in the Buddha's family: the Buddha takes the unarisen principle of the tathatā-dharmadhātu as his home. Now, when one sees that the dust mote is unarisen and lacks intrinsic nature, this very wisdom is manifest and born from unarisen phenomena; therefore it is called being born in the Buddha's family. The sūtra says: "Not conceptualizing phenomena, / one is thus born from suchness." It also says: "Universally among the Buddhadharmas of the three times, / having known non-arising, one is transformatively born." Simply conforming to the meaning and principle is called being born in the Buddha's family; one is a child of the Buddha, which is also called the appearance of the Buddha (one edition says: taking the unarisen principle, bodhi and nirvāṇa as home).
