釋曰：四觀皆有三段，謂標、釋、結。然準下文，前三以法揀情，第四正顯法理。揀情三句，標名則同、釋義則異。今先總明三句所揀，所揀有三：一揀即離、二揀亂意、三揀形顯。

The Commentary says: All four contemplations have three sections, namely: setting forth, explanation, and conclusion. However, in accordance with the text below, the first three use the Dharma to eliminate emotional clinging, while the fourth directly reveals the principle of the Dharma. For the three propositions that eliminate emotional clinging, their stated names are identical, but their explained meanings are different. Now I will first explain generally what is eliminated by the three propositions; what is eliminated has three aspects: first, eliminating identity and detachment; second, eliminating confused thoughts; third, eliminating shape-form and color-form.
