初中就通相說，三句皆揀即離，從多分說。初句明空不離色，以揀離色。次句明空不即色，以揀太即。第三句雙明不即不離，揀具即離。由揀三情，故第四句顯其正理。

First, speaking in terms of general characteristics, all three propositions eliminate identity and detachment, speaking from the predominant aspect. The first proposition clarifies that emptiness is not detached from form, in order to eliminate detachment from form. The next proposition clarifies that emptiness is not identical to form, in order to eliminate excessive identity. The third proposition clarifies both non-identity and non-detachment, eliminating possessing both identity and detachment. Due to eliminating these three emotional clingings, the fourth proposition reveals the correct principle.
