觀曰：一、空不即色，以空即色故。何以故？斷空不即是色，故云非色真空必不異色，故云即色。要由真空即色，故令斷空不即色也。
The Contemplation states: "1. Emptiness is not identical to form, because emptiness is identical to form. Why is this? Annihilatory emptiness is not identical to form; therefore it is said to not be form. True emptiness must not be different from form; therefore it is said to be identical to form. It is precisely because true emptiness is identical to form that annihilatory emptiness is made to not be identical to form."
