釋曰：此門亦三：初標、二釋。釋上二句，初句明斷空非真色，對前色即空中實色非斷空。下句明真空不異色，對前不離色明空。雖含即離，下句則是舉正，上句是所揀情，情謂離色。二、揀亂意者，揀斷空非實色，對前會色歸空觀實色非斷空。三、要由真空下，結成。以下句舉正，結上句是所揀情。

The Commentary states: This gate also has three [parts]: first, the statement; second, the explanation. It explains the above two clauses: the first clause clarifies that annihilatory emptiness is not true form, which corresponds to the previous "actual form is not annihilatory emptiness" in "form is identical to emptiness." The lower clause clarifies that true emptiness is not different from form, which corresponds to the previous "clarifying emptiness without detaching from form." Although it contains identity and detachment, the lower clause puts forward the correct, while the upper clause is the attachment to be eliminated—the attachment which claims detachment from form. Second, regarding eliminating confused thoughts: it eliminates annihilatory emptiness not being actual form, which corresponds to the actual form not being annihilatory emptiness in the previous contemplation of reducing form to emptiness. Third, from "It is precisely because true emptiness…" downward concludes and confirms it. By adducing the correct in the lower clause, it concludes that the upper clause is the attachment to be eliminated.
