釋曰：答事望理，即答前一塵遍理何故非大等。亦初二句，正明遍理非大之相。初句一塵遍理，第二句明其非大。亦三四句正答相違之難，亦第三句明一小塵遍於大理，亦第四句雖遍於理而塵不大。但明事理非一非異，兩義難通。

Explanation: Answering regarding phenomena in relation to principle means answering the previous [question]: why, when a single dust particle pervades principle, is it not large, and so forth. Also, the first two phrases directly clarify the characteristics of pervading principle without being large. The first phrase is that a single dust particle pervades principle; the second phrase clarifies that it is not large. Also, the third and fourth phrases directly answer the challenge of mutual contradiction: the third phrase clarifies that a single small dust particle pervades the vast principle, and the fourth phrase clarifies that although it pervades principle, the dust particle is not large. It merely clarifies that phenomena and principle are neither identical nor different, two meanings difficult to penetrate.
