指一為例也。由上一事含於理故，餘一切事與所含理體不異故，隨所含理皆於一事中現也。然此亦與理非異方能含，今但標非一者，約存本一事為能含法故，又以對前門故。

This points to one as an example. Because the preceding single phenomenon contains principle, and because all remaining phenomena are not different in substance from the contained principle, following the contained principle they are all manifested within the single phenomenon. However, it must also be not different from principle to be able to contain; the reason only 'not identical' is stated now is with regard to preserving the original single phenomenon as the dharma capable of containing, and also to contrast it with the preceding gate.
