From the beginning it has had no match or equal; a mouth full cannot express it. This means that the nature-ocean of the Avataṃsaka is entirely gathered into this single character, and the heavenly meaning of the dharmadhātu also issues forth from it. Tell me, where does this character gather and integrate? Where does it flow forth? If someone understands this, not only could the ink of the ocean not exhaust writing it, but they would also recognize the basis of non-abiding. If one has not yet done so, how can one avoid entering the ocean to count the grains of sand?
