真秀德記云：詩者，圖文有七言三十句，故云詩耳，非約韵言也。一印者，欲現一大緣起故也。

The record of the Venerable Zhenxiu says: "As for 'poem,' because the text of the diagram consists of thirty lines of seven characters each, it is simply called a poem; it is not said in terms of rhyme. As for 'a single seal,' it is because it wishes to manifest one great pratītyasamutpāda."
