1.79

所詮章佛種性文云：第三約一乘有二說。一攝前諸教所明種性，並皆具足主伴成宗，以同教故，攝方便故。二據別教種性，甚深因果無二，通依及正，盡三世間，該收一切，理事解行諸法門本來滿足已成熟訖故。大經云「菩薩種性甚深廣大，與法界虛空等」，此之謂也。

The passage on the Buddha-gotra in the Suoquan zhang states: Third, according to the One Vehicle there are two explanations. First, it subsumes the lineages explained in the preceding teachings, all being fully endowed as ruler and retinue to establish the doctrine; this is because it is the shared teaching, and because it subsumes upāya. Second, relying on the lineage of the distinct teaching, the profoundly deep cause and effect are non-dual, thoroughly encompassing the container and the contained, exhausting the three realms, and subsuming everything; because all Dharma gates of principle, phenomena, understanding, and practice are fundamentally complete and already matured. The Great Sūtra states: 'The bodhisattva lineage is profoundly deep, vast and great, equal to the dharmadhātu and empty space.' This is what it refers to.
