已前六件，並由事涉世譏，本非道服，宜通斷重。而事容大小，過起遲速，貯備延促，未可該含，故隨條斷，並各如別。其俗衣兩斷，義指如前，猶存俗相者，深取後文，宜從輕限。

The six items above all involve worldly censure and are fundamentally not robes of the Way, so they ought generally to be determined as heavy property. However, matters admit of large and small, transgressions arise late or early, and storage may be for long or short periods, so they cannot be subsumed under a single blanket rule; thus they are determined item by item, each according to its distinct category. The dual determination for secular clothing follows the intended principle stated previously: if they still retain their secular appearance, take the subsequent text deeply into account, and they should be subjected to the limit for light property.
