Eight, explaining the chanting and reciting of the Buddha's true scriptures. Because these Mahāyāna teachings of definitive meaning proclaim the extremely deep, pure Dharma of emptiness, emanating from the Tathāgata's dharmakāya, the practitioner, with a pure mind, cherishes and respects the Mahāyāna, upholding, reciting, copying, and making offerings to it; even the scriptures belonging to the other vehicles, because they all flow forth from the Mahāyāna, I also uphold without contradiction. Therefore, through this merit one attains the sight of all Buddhas. As the Pañcaviṃśatisāhasrikā Prajñāpāramitā states: 'If someone upholds the words of prajñā, draws near to, recites, is mindful of, and writes them down, making various offerings, they will not fall into the bad destinies, will constantly see all Buddhas, and from one Buddha land to another Buddha land, will also make offerings to all Buddhas.'
