答云：「師前讀藏經太麁，但究與律相扶者。至於優柔文義，過非深細，必欲重讀，隨分亦應得耳。無奈報命久終，生處復欲師到。師常觀不願早生，在人有弘律教，幸願悉之。」

He replied, saying: "Master, your earlier reading of the canon of scriptures was overly cursory; you only investigated what accorded with the Vinaya. As for gently savoring the text and its meaning, your fault was not being deep and meticulous. If you truly wish to read it again, according to your ability it should also be permissible. But it cannot be helped that your retributive lifespan expired long ago, and your place of rebirth wishes for you to arrive. Master, you always contemplate not wishing to be born there early, so while among humans you may propagate the vinaya teachings; we only hope that you will understand this fully."
