又曰：「前所製《章服儀》，靈神感喜。自佛法東傳六七百年，南北律師曾無此意，安用殺生之財而為慈悲之服？全不然也。師何獨拔此意？」

He also said: "The Ritual Manual on Monastic Robes (Zhangfu yi) that you composed earlier has moved the spiritual deities to rejoice. For six or seven hundred years since the transmission of the Buddhadharma to the east, the Vinaya masters of the north and south never conceived this idea. How could one use wealth from killing living beings to make garments of compassion? It is entirely improper. How did you alone hit upon this idea?"
