答曰：「《十誦》有文，何得不用此制？有以不可不行。（云云。）又大衣重作，師比行之，然於上葉之下，乃三重也。豈得然耶？」

He replied, saying: "The Daśabhāṇavāra Vinaya (Shisong lü) has a text; how can you not use this regulation? There are reasons why it must be practiced. (And so forth.) Furthermore, as for remaking the great robe, which you have practiced of late, beneath the upper strip it is actually three layers thick. How could this be correct?"
