《僧史略》曰：「案《祇洹圖經》，寺中有玻黎師子，形如拳許，大口出妙音，菩薩聞之，皆超地位。每至臘月八日，舍衛城中士女競持香花，來聽法音。」

Sengshi lüe says: 'According to the Illustrated Scripture on the Jetavana, there was in the monastery a crystal lion, about the size of a fist, whose large mouth uttered wondrous sounds; bodhisattvas who heard it all transcended stages. Every year on the eighth day of the twelfth month, the gentlemen and ladies of Śrāvastī vied with one another to hold incense and flowers, coming to listen to the sound of the Dharma.'
