或聞生滅，即解生滅對不生滅為二，非生滅非不生滅為中。中道清淨，獨拔而出生死、涅槃之表。願我得佛，能為眾生說最上道，獨拔而出，如華出水、如月處空（云云）。

Or, upon hearing of arising and cessation, one immediately understands that arising and cessation relative to non-arising and non-cessation constitute a duality, whereas neither arising-and-cessation nor non-arising-and-non-cessation constitutes the middle. The middle way is pure, rising singularly above and beyond both saṃsāra and nirvāṇa. [Such a person vows:] "May I attain Buddhahood and be able to expound the supreme path for sentient beings, singularly rising above, like a lotus rising out of the water or the moon abiding in the sky!" and so forth.
