「漸」與「不定」置而不論，今依經更明圓頓。如了達甚深妙德賢首曰：「菩薩於生死，最初發心時，一向求菩提，堅固不可動。彼一念功德，深廣無崖際，如來分別說，窮劫不能盡。」此菩薩聞圓法、起圓信、立圓行、住圓位、以圓功德而自莊嚴、以圓力用建立眾生。

Setting aside the "gradual" and "indeterminate" without discussing them, we now clarify further the perfect and sudden according to the sūtra. As the Worthy Leader [Bhadraśrī], who thoroughly penetrated the profound and wondrous virtue, said: "When a bodhisattva in saṃsāra / first generates the mind [for awakening], / exclusively seeking bodhi, / firm and unshakeable, / the merit of that single thought-moment / is deep and vast without boundary; / if the Tathāgata were to explain it analytically, / he could not exhaust it through endless eons." This bodhisattva hears the perfect Dharma, gives rise to perfect faith, establishes perfect practice, abides in the perfect rank, adorns themselves with perfect merits, and establishes sentient beings through perfect power and function.
