Regarding those who commit evil on account of emptiness: practicing unobstructed phenomena, above they do not see the sūtras, Buddhas, and fields of respect as venerable; below they do not see the virtue of filial debt to parents. Practicing the ways of naked beasts, they eradicate worldly and transworldly good. An icchantika, though evil, still retains the good of affection; one who holds the view of emptiness has none at all, being purely of the three grades of evil. Treason, harming, injuring, and destroying are the hell realm; lack of shame and conscience is the animal realm; stinginess, greed, breaking the fast, and sustaining oneself impurely are the hungry ghost realm. Because of breaking the fast, they are constantly hungry; because of impurity, they consume filth. Regarding those who practice good due to emptiness: upholding precepts, ascetic practices, adorning the ten virtues, with the three karmas fully ripened, this is the realm of the three wholesome destinies. Furthermore, activating the fundamental [dhyānas], this is the form realm.
