Why? Such foolish people have no wisdom or understanding in their minds; believing their original teacher and admiring previous celebrities, they resolutely claim this is the Way. Moreover, following one's desires is easy; indulging the mind to take pleasure, they do not correct their delusion. For example, Xishi originally suffered from heart ailment and often liked to knit her brows; her manifold charms shifted all the more, increasing her beauty. An ugly neighbour woman imitated her knitting of the brows, becoming all the more repulsive. The poor moved far away, the rich barred their doors, burrowing creatures hid deep within, and flying creatures soared high into the distance. Those people are just like this: mad dogs chasing thunder, creating hellish karma—how sorrowful and pitiful! Having indulged in pleasures of desire, they cannot stop themselves, like bluebottles stuck to spittle. Such, in brief, are the faults of reckless conduct.
